Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni said all the public and private universities across the country will reopen on May 24 while dormitories will reopen on May 17.
“The residential halls of all public universities will reopen on May 17 while classes will start on May 24,” the minister told a virtual briefing
this afternoon.
Dipu Moni said all 1.30 lakh residential students of the country’s 220 public university halls, 15,000 teachers and 25,000 employees of different public universities should receive vaccine before reopening of the dormitories.
No examination will be taken before reopening of classes in the classrooms, but online classes will be continued, she added.
The minister urged the university authorities to take all-out preparations to reopen the universities as well as ensure all the required renovation of the residential halls.
The decision on reopening schools and colleges will be taken after 28 February, said the education minister.
Educational institutions across the country were shut in March last year due to outbreak of Coronavirus in the country.
