Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) has announced prize money in exchange of old unused commodes, tires, coconut shells, colour containers and packets of chips.
The city corporation Mayor Atiqul Islam at a programme on Saturday said Tk 50 will be given as prize money for each unused commode and tire and Tk 5 for each packet chips, coconut shell and colour container.
The mayor said, “Keep a watchful eye on flower tubs, unused tires, coconut shells, open packets of chips, various types of open pots, roofs or other places so that water does not freeze for more than three days. Depositors will be rewarded if these unused items are not discarded and submitted to the nearest Ward Councilor or Regional Executive Officer’s Office.”
Atiqul said that the most informative picture provider of the origin of Aedes mosquito using ‘Sabar Dhaka’ mobile app will also be rewarded.
Addressing the city dwellers, the DNCC mayor said that the ongoing social movement for well-being should be intensified to prevent Aedes mosquitoes, dengue and chikungunya through public awareness.
