Airport Armed Police Battalion (APBn) has detained two outbound passengers at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport for trying to smuggle out Saudi Riyals.
The duo on Friday morning was trying to fly to Bahrain with the Riyals worth Tk 1.4 crore, said Ziaul Haque, Additional Superintendent (Media) of APBn.
The detained passengers were Jewel, 38, and Golam Rabbani, 48.
During preliminary interrogation, the arrested said they intended to smuggle the currency to Dubai, said Ziaul Huque.
