DSCC workers removed 8,000 tons of animal waste: Mayor Taposh

Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh has said some 8,000 tonnes of sacrificial animal waste has been removed till the early afternoon on the second day of Eid-ul-Azha on Thursday.

He told journalists about it after monitoring the animal waste removal activities’ data collected from the control room set up at Shitalakhya Hall of Nagar Bhaban on Thursday afternoon.

Taposh said the DSCC’s workers removed 100 per cent waste accumulated by slaughtering cattle by the early Thursday afternoon.

The DNCC mayor said sacrificing some 30 per cent of the cattle took place on the second day of Eid. “We will remove the waste of the cattle which will be salughtered today (Thursday),” he said.

Requesting the Dhaka dwellers to complete sacrifice their cattle by Thursday, Mayor Taposh said, “My request to Dhaka dwellers that you finish your qurbani by today. Workers need one day’s of absence.
