The High Court has extended BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s bail for one year in five separate cases.
An HC bench led by Justice Muhammad Abdul Hafiz and Justice Mohammad Ali passed the extension order on Tuesday after hearing on four defamation cases filed against the BNP chief in Dhaka and Narail in 2018.
Lawyers Kayser Kamal, AHM Kamruzzaman Mamun, Shamima Sultana Dipti and Rokunuzzaman Suja appeared in the court for Khaleda Zia.
On Monday, another bench headed by Justices AKM Asaduzzaman and Kazi Mohammad Ijarul Haque extended the bail in a murder case filed in Cumilla in 2015.
